Remember the Vivo smartphone with an in-display fingerprint scanner that debuted at CES 2018 in Las Vegas? Good news: It’s now official. Or at least it is for the Chinese market.

If a new rumor is to be believed, we won’t have to wait long till we see the world’s first smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor, after all.

At the CES 2018 trade show in Las Vegas, Vivo showcased the world’s first optical in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone OEM said it is ready for mass production, though it declined to reveal the handset model that will adopt the technology, as well as its specifications and price.
