According to German site WinFuture, the device will be announced on July 31, and it will be called Nokia 8, not Nokia 9, as previously reported. Its source even stated a price — €589, or approximately P34,000 or $675.

If true, that would make the Nokia 8 cheaper than flagships like the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, which costs P45,490 ($901); the Samsung Galaxy S8, which starts at P39,990 ($792); and the Apple iPhone 7, whose base model goes for P37,990 ($753). But we guess HMD Global wouldn’t go the route taken by brands like Xiaomi and OnePlus, which offer devices with high-end specs at wallet-friendly prices.
To be launched on July 31, the Nokia 8 will reportedly sell for €589 (P34,000 or $675). If true, that would make the phone cheaper than flagships like the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, the Samsung Galaxy S8, and the Apple iPhone 7.
Anyhow, word has it that for €589, you’ll get a handset that’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chip, boasts a 5.3-inch QHD display, and features two 13-megapixel cameras on the back.

WinFuture’s source said that the Nokia 8 will only have one configuration at launch: 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of internal storage. As for color schemes, there are supposed to be models that come in either blue, steel, gold and blue, or gold and copper.
July 31 is just around the corner, so waiting to see if there will be a Nokia flagship phone shouldn’t be that long.
