YOU’VE been waiting for this, we know. Ever since HMD Global announced last year that the first Nokia phones running Android would be launched in 2017, we’ve been asked countless times about the devices’ launch in the Philippines. Now, with representatives from the company that got the rights to use the Nokia brand finally giving a statement about it, we can say this for certain: It’s sooner than you think it is.

(Update, June 1, 2017: There’s a date for the launch of the Nokia 3310 and other Nokia phones! Mark June 8 on your calendar. Be back here on that date for the handsets’ respective prices.)

How does this coming second quarter sound? You read that right. All the handsets shown at MWC [Mobile World Congress] 2017 in February — the Nokia 3310, the international variant of the Nokia 6, the Nokia 5, and the Nokia 3 — will be released in the country by June this year.

The feature phone that stole the show from its smartphone brethren, the Nokia 3310 is a reboot of the device of the same name — the one that was known for the popular Snake game, swappable casings, and insane durability, battery life, and affordability. Talk about nostalgia.

The Nokia 6 is, of course, the 5.5-inch smartphone that sold out in just one minute in China. It got over a million registrations of interest at JD.com. Impressive. To read our initial review, swing by this page.

The Nokia 5 is a 5.2-inch phone that’s powered by the same chipset found on the Nokia 6, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430. It features 2GB of RAM; 16GB of internal storage, with an option to expand it via a microSD card; 13- and 8-megapixel rear and front cameras; a non-removable 3,000mAh battery; and Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The Nokia 3, on the other hand, is the smallest of the three smartphones at 5 inches. It has the same amount of RAM and ROM as the Nokia 5, but it’s powered by a MediaTek MT6737 processor this time. There’s an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and another 8-megapixel cam on the front. A non-removable 2,650mAh battery keeps the Android 7.0 Nougat handset running.

No word yet on their local pricing, but these suggested retail prices abroad should give you an idea of how much the devices should cost you in the Philippines: 59 euros (P3,211 or $64) for the Nokia 3310; 229 euros (P12,466 or $248) for the Nokia 6; 299 euros (P16,278 or $324) for the Nokia 6 Arte Special Edition (black finish, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage); 189 euros (P10,286 or $205) for the Nokia 5; and 139 euros (P7,565 or $151) for the Nokia 3.
