Priced at P23,990 (approximately $477), the phone will go against the P19,990 ($397) Vivo V5 Plus (click for full specs), that other device that has dual cameras on the front. While other brands slug it out in the rear-camera arena, these two are taking the battle to the front.

But is comparing the two smartphones really like comparing apples to apples? We had thought so — until we got a review unit of the OPPO F3 Plus last week.
It turns out that the F3 Plus has a different dual-camera system. A 16-megapixel sensor takes care of the high-resolution solo shots while an 8-megapixel one is tasked to shoot 120-degree wide-angle selfies. See the resized sample selfies below.

Which is different from how Vivo’s system is set up.
The V5 Plus’ 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 1/2.78-inch sensor works in tandem with an 8-megapixel sensor to give your selfies that background blur or bokeh effect. Check out the resized sample selfies we included in our Vivo V5 Plus review.
Which one is better? The answer really depends on what you want to achieve often: wide-angle selfies or “groufies” or selfies that have a depth-of-field effect? If it’s the former, then choose the OPPO F3 Plus. If it’s the latter, you’ll have to pick the Vivo V5 Plus. You can’t go wrong with either.
