For P28,990 (or $580 in U.S. currency), which sounds about right given its $500 launch price (taxes and duties, remember), you’re looking at a 5.5-inch phone with high-performance specs and improved security protocols, both on the hardware and software front. BlackBerry also guarantees the quick delivery of security patches to protect the device against malicious tampering.

The AMOLED display runs at extra-crisp quad-HD resolution, while the rear camera offers 21 megapixels and 4K video recording. Under the hood of the BlackBerry DTEK60, there’s a Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM to keep things moving at a brisk pace.
The 3,000mAh battery, meanwhile, doesn’t seem enough for a device with this kind of screen and processing muscle, but we’re holding off making any judgment until we get our hands on a unit.
Since its release late last year, the DTEK60 has garnered positive reviews online.
As Android Central noted, it’s “one of the best phones of 2016.” CNET praised its battery life, claiming the phone outlasted the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, the Google Pixel XL, and the Motorola Moto Z in its video-playback test. TechRadar said it’s a great fit for those who shudder at the thought of hackers gaining access to their personal data.
