Beyond the Box has listed the 32GB version of the iPhone 7 at P37,990, while the iPhone 7 Plus with the same amount of storage starts at P44,990. If you prefer to get it from a telecom operator, you’ll be happy to hear that Globe Telecom and Smart Communications have posted their respective iPhone 7 offers on their websites (click this for Globe’s, and this for Smart’s). Do note that you may be looking at a lengthy lock-in period (does 30 months sound like a long time?), depending on the model and the carrier plan you choose.
The iPhone 7, as with previous models, improves on its predecessor in several areas, featuring waterproofing; less invasive antenna lines; better all-around performance; a capacitive home button; and a dual-camera system on the Plus variant, among others.
So far, it has been selling better than originally projected in markets where it is readily available, but that may be partly because of Samsung’s missteps with the now-discontinued Galaxy Note 7.
Strong demand for the iPhone 7 has soften Apple’s profit and revenue decline — its third consecutive one. In its latest fiscal quarter, the company said its net income fell 19 percent, from $11.1 billion to $9 billion, in the same period last year. Its revenue dipped by 9 percent, to $46.9 billion.
