Local mobile gamers have something new to covet. ASUS is back to flex its gaming-phone muscle with the launch of the ROG Phone 9 family in the Philippines, and leading the charge is the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro.
Initially, ASUS Philippines is launching with a two-pronged approach featuring the top-tier ROG Phone 9 Pro and the slightly more grounded ROG Phone 9 FE. Both are draped in a sleek, high-end aesthetic, punctuated by what ASUS is calling Anime Vision — a mini-LED display on the back. This rear-facing screen echoes the design language of its predecessors, but with more programmable LEDs, now available in red, and the ability to play retro-style games on the back of the Pro variant. We’re not sure if the vanilla ROG Phone 9 will eventually hit local retailers.

Beyond the looks, the ROG Phone DNA is still strong here. ASUS is doubling down on what works, keeping the beloved AirTrigger touch system for that extra layer of tactile control in your MOBA and first-person shooter battles. And of course, the ROG Phone 9 series remains deeply embedded in the ROG ecosystem, welcoming a suite of new accessories like the upgraded AeroActive Cooler X Pro with a built-in subwoofer, the Chill Case, and the Tessen Mobile Controller to amp up your game.

Talking about the price, these aren’t your impulse-buy smartphones. The ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE, packing last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, starts at P44,995 (approximately $785 converted) for the lone 12GB/256GB configuration. Stepping up to the ROG Phone 9 Pro will set you back P62,995 ($1,100) for the 16GB/512GB variant. Early birds for both models get a free ROG Chill Case and screen protector worth P3,990 ($70). Unfortunately, your only color option is Phantom Black this time around.
Want ultimate bragging rights? The top-of-the-line ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro with a staggering 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage commands a P76,995 ($1,344) price tag, justifying it (perhaps) with a bundled AeroActive Cooler X Pro. Need to spread out the damage? Home Credit is offering 12-month, 0% interest installments at participating stores nationwide.
Local ROG Phone 9 Pro and ROG Phone 9 FE pricing and availability details
Under the hood, the ROG Phone 9 Pro is armed with Qualcomm’s top-dog Snapdragon 8 Elite 5G chipset, the same silicon you’ll find in flagship heavyweights like the Xiaomi 15 series and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. But ASUS isn’t just chasing raw power; the company is leaning hard into the gaming experience. This lineup is about custom — and super-effective — cooling solutions, a galaxy of gamer-centric accessories, and that unapologetically “gamery” aesthetic — albeit toned down from its RGB-heavy days, embracing a more mature, stealthy vibe from the ROG Phone 8 line.
Plus, the camera isn’t an afterthought, unlike on some gaming-focused models. The ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro marks a serious camera upgrade, boasting the best imaging system the series has ever seen. It packs a triple-camera setup with a 50-megapixel main image sensor, a dedicated 32-megapixel telephoto, a 13-megapixel ultrawide, along with the company’s highly effective gimbal stabilization.
