OPPO‘s next ultra-high-end flagship is apparently locked in for an April launch, quashing rumors of a delay.
OPPO product manager Zhou Yibao took to Weibo to set the record straight, confirming the OPPO Find X8 Ultra’s time frame. He also stated the smartphone will hit shelves the same month it is unveiled.
The Ultra model is shaping up to be a standout, with Zhou teasing a “world’s narrowest” feature. Although he refused to divulge any more details, razor-thin bezels are a likely bet. Expect a 6.82-inch 2K OLED display made by BOE, a sizable one-inch main camera sensor, and a triple-lens setup featuring dual periscope telephotos alongside an ultrawide unit.
And thanks to hands-on images leaked this week, we now have an idea of what the device will look like before it drops — if they’re authentic, that is. The OPPO Find X8 Ultra sports a striking, oversized oval camera island, ringed in silver, a significant departure from its predecessor’s layout. The LED flash now resides outside the module, tucked into the top left corner. Up front, the phone ditches the curved screen, as previously mentioned.
Adding to the lineup, OPPO will also debut an “ultra-thin small-screen flagship,” likely the OPPO Find X8 Next (or OPPO Find X8 Mini, depending on whom you ask). This compact device targets users craving a lightweight, pocketable powerhouse, offering an interesting alternative to the Ultra’s more substantial build.
