realme‘s got a new sub-flagship smartphone, and it’s the successor to the Neo6 SE. As expected, the realme Neo7 SE is now official, following its unveiling in China.

The Neo7 SE comes in black, blue, and white, and the price is pretty tempting. It starts at ¥1,799 (around $248 or P14,359) for the 8GB RAM/256GB storage version and goes up to ¥2,499 ($345 or P19,947) for the 16GB RAM/512GB storage model. It’s available right now in China.

So it’s kind of a big deal, especially if you’re after top-end performance but find proper flagships too expensive. First off, this one rocks a MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Max 5G chip — basically, the same processor we saw in the recent POCO X7 Pro, minus the “Max” moniker.

To keep things cool under pressure, realme’s thrown in an airflow cold-front cooling system with a large 7,700mm square VC heat dissipation area. Because, you know, nobody likes a hot phone. Another highlight is the battery. The realme Neo7 SE packs a massive 7,000mAh cell, which promises all-day usage — and, perhaps, even longer. Plus, it supports 80-watt wired fast charging, so you won’t be tethered to the wall for long.

The unit is IP66/68/69 rated for dust and water resistance. As for the visuals, you’re looking at a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 6,000 nits.

Around the back, you’ll find a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor with optical image stabilization, paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide. So, not exactly groundbreaking camera tech, but should be solid enough for most users. There’s also a 16-megapixel selfie camera tucked into a punch-hole and an optical fingerprint scanner on the bottom half of the display.
