It looks like Xiaomi is about to launch a new Redmi phone in the Philippines, and it’s probably not what anyone is expecting. A listing on the company’s official global store on Shopee hints at a new device launching on October 15, and the rumor mill is churning.
While the Redmi Note 14 series, which debuted in China last month, seems unlikely, a different contender has emerged from the shadows — the Redmi A3 Pro. This smartphone recently made a surprise appearance on a Kenyan online shop, complete with some rather questionable product photos that scream “take this with a grain of salt.”
The listed specs appear legitimate, though. Interestingly, the store listed the model at KSh13,999, which converts to roughly P6,200 or $110. Further fueling the speculation, clearer images of the Redmi A3 Pro have surfaced on X, formerly Twitter — this time from another retailer.

Alleged Redmi A3 Pro
So, what can we expect from this potential budget beast? The Redmi A3 Pro apparently sports a massive 6.88-inch 90Hz display with a waterdrop notch, making it a surprisingly large-screen device if the specs check out.
Under the hood, it’s rumored to pack a 12nm MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra 4G chipset — the same silicon powering the recently launched Redmi 14C — which is a definite step up from the Helio G36 found in the regular Redmi A3. Xiaomi is also reportedly throwing in 4GB of physical RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
In the camera department, the unit boasts a 50-megapixel AI main camera, though details about its secondary shooter remain shrouded in mystery. Rounding out the package is a beefy 5,160mAh battery that likely supports USB-C charging and a side-mounted fingerprint reader for convenient unlocking.
Of course, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Xiaomi, but recent developments point to the Redmi A3 Pro making a splash in the Philippines. If the price is right, this could be a serious contender for anyone seeking a big-screen phone at a wallet-friendly price. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to this mysterious phone’s listed release date.
