Teaming up with race organizer Runrio for the second time, Samsung is sponsoring two huge running events to support the growing running scene in the Philippines, with the AI-powered Galaxy Watch as the wellness partner of runners nationwide.

The first, the Galaxy Watch Manila Marathon on October 6, will take you through iconic landmarks, showcasing the city’s rich history. It’s organized in partnership with the Department of Tourism and is happening at the SM Mall of Asia Complex. The Galaxy Watch Cebu Half-Marathon on November 24, on the other hand, will let you enjoy the scenic seascape as you conquer the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway, the country’s longest bridge.

Samsung also launched the Galaxy Watch Run Club to give aspiring runners a head start. Intended to combine training sessions and fitness challenges to boost club members’ performance and build camaraderie, the free six-week program had a kickoff event in Makati City. Members got access to advanced metrics from the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra to track their progress like a pro. Exclusive discounts on these devices awaited them as well.

Think of the two smartwatches as your wrist-mounted coaches. They’re packed with features to help you run further and faster.

The Samsung wearable that we tested recently was the Galaxy Watch7, which is all about everyday wellness. It tracks over 100 workouts, gives you personalized fitness plans, and even monitors your sleep and potential sleep apnea. It likewise measures your heart rate, ECG, and blood pressure, giving you a complete picture of your health. And for the first time ever, the Galaxy Watch7 lets you track advanced glycation end products, which can indicate your overall biological aging process.

As for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, this one’s built for anything you throw at it. Its tough design and water resistance can handle even the most intense workouts. It has a fancy dual-frequency GPS system for ultra-accurate route tracking. Its new Functional Threshold Power feature for cycling uses AI to track your maximum cycling power, and the Quick Button lets you start workouts instantly or activate an emergency siren. The battery life is also insane, lasting up to 100 hours in Power Saving mode.

The Galaxy Watch Run Club, by the way, is expanding to Cebu, with runners who complete three sessions earning 20% off their marathon registration and those finishing five sessions receiving either an exclusive merchandise or a free slot in the Manila or Cebu run.

“Samsung aims to inspire users to improve their lifestyle with Galaxy AI being in our mobile and ecosystem devices, providing Filipinos with personalized insights to enhance their wellness routines,” Samsung Electronics Philippines Head of Mobile Experience Blue Avelino said. “We’re also excited to foster fitness communities, as seen in our Run Club launch and participation in the Manila Marathon and Cebu Half-Marathon, reflecting our commitment to the running community.”

Grab a 40mm or 44mm Galaxy Watch7 or Galaxy Watch Ultra till the end of September, and you can score a free band or up to 30% discount when you buy select Galaxy phones. Then, join Samsung in celebrating fitness at the Manila or Cebu marathon. It should be fun.
