The vivo V40 5G is officially launching in the Philippines on September 18. But that’s not even the most interesting news for this week from the Chinese smartphone brand.

Apparently, preorders for the device are now open nationwide even if the official promo materials say “September 17.”
Multiple sources have claimed that you can now secure your vivo V40 5G at participating retailers in the country. As an early adopter, you’ll receive a free pair of vivo TWS 3e earbuds on top of a P2,000 (around $35) discount, as we previously reported.
Pricing is reportedly set at P24,999 (roughly $442 converted) for the 12GB/256GB configuration. The variant with double the storage at 512GB is said to have a suggested retail price of P26,999 ($478).
No word yet on the vivo V40 Pro 5G, but considering its predecessor arrived later than the vanilla version, we’re not surprised. Recall that the V30 Pro 5G was priced at P34,999 ($619) at launch. Given the company’s previous release pattern, we can expect the new Pro model to arrive in the Philippines at a later date. Here’s hoping vivo can maintain a competitive price point when it does.
The vivo V40 5G boasts a fresh new look with a circular camera module and a selection of metallic finishes, including Stellar Silver and Nebula Purple, for the local market.
It’s still rocking a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with HDR10+ and 1.5K resolution, along with three 50-megapixel cameras on the back and front and a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 5G chipset, just like its predecessor. To keep you going longer, the smartphone offers a slightly larger 5,500mAh battery. Fast charging remains at 80 watts, allowing for quick top-ups.
