And the good news for fans of the brand is that the V series is also coming to the Philippines soon, as confirmed by the company’s official website for the local market. Recall that the previous-generation V30 Pro cost P34,999 (around $607) at launch, while the regular V30 was priced from P24,999 ($434).

What we at Revü spotted

In India, the vivo V40 starts at ₹34,999 ($417 or P24,018) for the variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the vivo V40 Pro commands a base price of ₹49,999 ($596 or P34,321) for the 8GB RAM/256GB storage configuration. Both models are now available for preorder in the Indian market.

Like their predecessors, the vivo V40 and vivo 40 Pro are geared towards users seeking a premium midrange experience, boasting impressive camera systems, sleek curved designs, and robust performance courtesy of their powerful processors. In fact, the V40 series has been dubbed “India’s slimmest smartphone with a 5,500mAh battery.”

Both models boast a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with HDR10+ support and an impressive 4,500 nits of peak brightness, promising vibrant visuals. Additionally, they support fast charging speeds of up to 80 watts, although wireless charging is a notable omission on the two devices.

Another standout feature is undoubtedly their camera setups — co-engineered with ZEISS. The regular V40 sports a dual-lens rear camera system anchored by two 50-megapixel image sensors, while the V40 Pro upgrades to three 50-megapixel cameras at the back. This is complemented by dedicated ultrawide and telephoto lenses for added versatility. Selfie enthusiasts won’t be disappointed either, as both phones feature a 50-megapixel front camera capable of capturing sharp selfies and vlogs.

The 7 ZEISS Style Portrait features

Powering the higher-end vivo V40 Pro is a top-tier 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus processor, which is featured on last year’s flagship devices, while the vivo V40 relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. Both processors are known for their ability to handle demanding tasks efficiently, ensuring smooth performance across various applications, though MediaTek’s SoC is obviously more suited for heavier tasks and demanding games.

Battery life is another area where both smartphones excel. Equipped with a substantial 5,500mAh battery, users can expect to comfortably navigate through the day without worrying about frequent recharges. Running on Android 14, the latest iteration of Google’s mobile operating system, both the vivo V40 and vivo V40 Pro offer users access to the most recent features and security enhancements.
