New DITO Level-Up Packs amp up data, add free month of Prime Video

DITO Telecommunity, the Philippines’ new kid on the telecom block, is bolstering its prepaid offerings with its latest lineup of data-focused plans called Level-Up Packs.

Starting at a competitive P99 (almost $2), these plans offer a variety of data allowances and come with some enticing extras, like a free 30-day subscription to Amazon Prime Video’s mobile-only plan, for those willing to spend a bit more.

Here’s the lowdown on the new prepaid offerings:

  • Level-Up P99. This entry-level plan offers 9GB of 4G/5G data, unlimited video and voice calls to other DITO users, and 150 minutes for calls to other networks. Texts to all networks are unlimited, but validity is a shorter 15 days.
  • Level-Up P109. This plan gives you 8GB of 4G/5G data, unlimited DITO video and voice calls and texts to all networks, 300 minutes for calls to other networks, and a longer 30-day validity period. It also adds a nice bonus: a 30-day mobile-only subscription to Amazon Prime Video, perfect for catching up on shows and movies on the go.
  • Level-Up P129. For an extra P30 (if you’re coming from the base plan), you’re looking at 10GB of 4G/5G data over a full 30-day validity period. It also comes with a 30-day mobile subscription to Prime Video. Calls and texts remain the same as the P99 and P109 plans (unlimited DITO video and voice calls, 300 minutes to other networks, and unlimited texts to all).

‘New and improved’ DITO Level-Up Packs

Downloading the DITO app for managing your plan and subscriptions is a must, regardless of which Level-Up Pack you choose. You likewise need a 5G-enabled phone and be in an area covered by DITO’s 5G network to enjoy blazing-fast speeds. Otherwise, you’ll be cruising at 4G speeds, which is probably still decent depending on your area.

DITO’s move is a clear shot at attracting data-centric users, especially with the added Prime Video perk on the pricier tiers. Whether it will be enough to shake up the prepaid landscape in the Philippines remains to be seen, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction for choice and competition.
