Confirmed: HONOR 200 series coming to the Philippines soon

Just like that, the HONOR 200 series is ditching its croissants for some lumpia and halo-halo. Yup, following the lineup’s global unveiling in Paris, France, earlier this month, HONOR Philippines has officially confirmed the phones’ arrival in the archipelago.

(Update, July 2: We have the Philippine launch date of the HONOR 200 series!)

But this isn’t entirely new territory for the HONOR 200 duo. The HONOR 200 and HONOR 200 Pro actually debuted on the Chinese market back in May, sporting some impressive specs for sub-flagships. We’re talking 6.7-inch and 6.78-inch 120Hz OLED displays (curved for the Pro, of course), with the standard model packing a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 5G processor and the Pro variant flexing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

In China, pricing officially starts at ¥2,499 (around $344 or P20,206) for the base HONOR 200 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and reaches ¥4,499 ($619 or P36,378) for the top-of-the-line HONOR 200 Pro with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

For the money, the Pro variant throws in some extras, including 66-watt wireless charging and a dedicated chip for smoother cellular and Wi-Fi connections. Both smartphones boot up with HONOR’s MagicOS 8.0 custom overlay on top of Android 14.

Let’s get to the good stuff: the cameras. Both HONOR 200 models boast a triple rear setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 50-megapixel telephoto shooter. The telephoto camera is particularly interesting, using a custom-made Sony sensor to take cleaner images of faraway objects with more detail and ensure elaborate bokeh effect in Portrait mode.

AI Portrait Master on the HONOR 200 series

HONOR also tapped into the expertise of the famed Parisian portrait studio, Studio Harcourt, to develop the AI Portrait Engine that powers the 200 series. For selfies and video calls, both phones come equipped with a 50-megapixel front-facing camera, ensuring your self-portraits stay sharp.

Rounding out the package are hefty 5,200mAh batteries with support for the brand’s proprietary 100-watt wired charging. No word yet on local pricing or an exact release date, but HONOR Philippines promises more exciting announcements soon. Stay tuned, HONOR fans!
