Xiaomi has introduced a new Redmi phone — this time of the entry-level variety — in Europe.

The Redmi 13 4G lands as the direct sequel to last year’s Redmi 12 4G, which was priced from P7,999 (roughly $136) at launch in the Philippines. The Redmi 12 4G had two variants on the local market — there’s an 8GB/128GB version and another variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

In Europe, the Redmi 13 4G starts at €179.99 ($196 or P11,514) for the base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the top-end 8GB/256GB version has a suggested retail price of €199.99 ($218 or P12,791). Take note that prices are typically higher in European countries than in the Philippines due to taxes and other costs. The handset comes in black, blue, and pink and is available via select online retailers.

Inside, the Redmi 13 4G packs the new MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra SoC, although not much is known about this 4G chipset in terms of real-world performance. Built on a 12nm process, the Helio G91 Ultra boasts an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A75 cores for demanding tasks and six Cortex-A55 cores for everyday use.

Another big upgrade this time around is the camera. The Redmi 13 4G ditches the 50-megapixel sensor of its predecessor for a whopping 108-megapixel main shooter, promising sharper photos and, hopefully, better low-light performance.

The rest of the phone feels like a familiar affair. We’re looking at the same 6.79-inch IPS LCD with FHD+ resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. The punch-hole selfie camera gets a bump to 13 megapixels, while the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP53 water resistance rating, and 5,030mAh battery with 33-watt fast charging carry over from the Redmi 12 4G. As expected, Xiaomi has dropped MIUI for its HyperOS custom interface based on Android 14.
