There’s no question that the RedMagic 9 Pro Plus is a powerful handset. It comes equipped with premium specifications, after all, not the least of which is the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 5G chipset that debuted on it.

The gaming phone is now even more interesting, as it has gotten a Bumblebee Transformers Edition. The specs are similar to the regular RedMagic 9 Pro Plus, from the processor to the 5,500mAh battery with 165-watt fast-charging support, the Nubia gaming sub-brand’s self-developed Red Core R2 Pro gaming chip, and 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 960Hz average touch sampling.

But as expected, the RedMagic 9 Pro Plus Bumblebee Transformers Edition unit, retail box, and bundled accessories like the charger, cable, and SIM ejector are all themed after the Transformers character, just like the company’s previous Bumblebee limited-edition releases. Save for the magnetic case, everything is decked out in a yellow-and-black paint job, as shown in the video below. The software has been customized as well.

Unfortunately, the new version may not be released globally. In China where it’s now on sale, the RedMagic 9 Pro Plus Bumblebee Transformers Edition with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at ¥6,499. That’s around P51,365 in Philippine pesos and $915 in U.S. dollars.
