Samsung today confirmed the launch date of its much-awaited mainstream flagship series. The South Korean electronics giant will officially unveil the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra at its next Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, on January 17.
(Update, January 18: The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is official!)
That’s January 18 if you live in the Philippines. You can also register your interest for the Galaxy S24 now and receive a voucher worth up to P5,000 (around $90 converted) by going to Samsung’s official local website.
As usual, the event is invitation-only, but will go live at samsung.com for those who want to watch the unveiling as it happens. Going by Samsung’s previous Unpacked events, preorders will likely begin the very next day.
Curiously, Samsung’s pre-event page highlights Galaxy AI, as opposed to focusing on the upcoming smartphone models. According to the microsite, Galaxy AI will “trailblaze the new era of AI” and bring “whole new levels of creativity, productivity, and possibility.”

Samsung previously confirmed its plans to use artificial intelligence in its upcoming smartphones, and the Galaxy S24 models are widely expected to debut new features centered around AI. Given the capabilities of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is rumored to be the mobile chip that powers the entire Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup, it’s likely that the new phones will offer the ability to translate text and voice calls live, write and summarize texts, generate images, and much more.
Leaked renders show a familiar design with smaller screen bezels and similar color options with different names. The top-tier Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is also expected to sport a new titanium frame rather than an aluminum one, aping Apple’s recent move of incorporating titanium sides into the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max designs. If anything, the shift to titanium would make the Galaxy S24 Ultra lighter and more durable than its predecessor.

Will you be getting the top-end Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra?
In terms of the main camera, reports have suggested that the top-of-the-line variant will pack a quad-lens setup with a 200-megapixel image sensor alongside a 12-megapixel ultrawide option and 50- and 10-megapixel telephoto cameras. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus are expected to get a triple-lens module with a 50-megapixel primary shooter joined by 12- and 10-megapixel cameras for ultrawide and zoom shots, respectively.
