OPPO has finally confirmed the launch date of its next-generation flagship series, which will debut next month for the Chinese market.
(Update, January 8: The OPPO Find X7 Ultra and OPPO Find X7 are official!)
The OPPO Find X7 series will be announced on January 8 at an event in China. It will comprise the OPPO Find X7 and OPPO Find X7 Ultra.
There’s no mention of a Pro model, but that’s probably because the Ultra has quietly replaced it as the lineup’s top-of-the-line offering. Last year, the company offered the Find X6 in vanilla and Pro configurations. They were priced from ¥4,499 (around P35,213 or $636) and ¥5,999 (P46,954 or $848), respectively.
Both the OPPO Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra are already listed on OPPO China’s online store ahead of their announcement, confirming the configurations as well as color options for both models. The two will also share the same aesthetic, headlined by a punch-hole curved display and a dual-tone rear panel with a large circular camera module similar to the previous generation.
The OPPO Find X7 will be available in four configurations — 12GB/256GB, 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB. It will also arrive in four colors, namely Starry Sky Black, Sea and Sky, Desert Moon Silver, and Smokey Purple. According to reports, the Find X7 will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 5G chipset.

OPPO Find X7 series launch announcement
Meanwhile, the OPPO Find X7 Ultra is set to come in 12GB/256GB, 16GB/256GB, and 16GB/512GB editions and three colors — Pine Shadow Ink, Sea and Sky, and Desert Moon Silver. Recent leaks have speculated that the top-end version might pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip under the hood.
OPPO will reportedly launch a special variant capable of two-way satellite communication in China, but there’s no confirmation for this on its online store yet. The device could share similar specs as the Find X7 Ultra.
In terms of the camera setup, the Ultra variant is said to be the industry’s first smartphone with dual periscope-telephoto cameras in a quad-camera module. On top of that, the company previously confirmed that it will debut Sony’s new one-inch 50-megapixel sensor dubbed the LYT-900.
It’s likely that the sensor will bring higher light sensitivity and improved low-light performance compared to last year’s Find X6 models. The regular Find X7, on the other hand, is expected to sport a triple-camera design at the back.
