Following the local release of the Tecno Spark 20C and Tecno Spark Go 2024, the value-focused Transsion Holdings brand has listed another member of the Spark 20 series in the Philippines with a similarly attractive price tag at launch.
According to Tecno Mobile, the Tecno Spark 20 with 8GB of physical RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which will normally retail for P6,999 (around $126 converted), is set to go on sale on Shopee on December 7 with a P4,099 ($74) introductory price. As of this writing, the vanilla variant hasn’t popped up on Lazada, although we did see a placeholder for an unnamed handset model, which we believe is for the Spark 20.
Looking at the specs sheet, the Tecno Spark 20 packs a 6.6-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, which is based on 12nm process technology and boasts two Cortex-A75 cores alongside six Cortex-A55 cores for basic tasks like web browsing and video streaming.
Compared to the Helio G36 found in the cheaper Spark 20C, the Helio G85 delivers faster computing and graphics performance, making the Spark 20 a better deal, especially if you can take advantage of Tecno’s promotional offer. Impressively, the phone also upgrades to a whopping 32-megapixel selfie camera — easily one of the sharpest, if not the sharpest — we’ve seen at this price point, while retaining the 50-megapixel main camera and 5,000mAh battery of the Spark 20C.
The Tecno Spark 20 likewise supports 18-watt wired charging over a modern USB-C port and arrives with the brand’s Dynamic Island-inspired Dynamic Port display feature. It also boots a custom overlay based on Android 13 out of the box.
