It’s exactly a week before the December 7 launch of the realme GT5 Pro in China, and there’s already a lot to unpack, what with the flood of both confirmed and rumored specs.

Let’s start with what has been announced thus far.
Unsurprisingly, the realme GT5 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 5G flagship chipset, which can only be found in the Xiaiomi 14, RedMagic 9 Pro, and Meizu 21 lineups at this time.
The processor uses TSMC’s 4nm technology and features a 3.3GHz Cortex-X4 super core that’s joined by Cortex-A720 cores operating at up to 3.15GHz and Cortex-A520 efficiency cores clocked at 2.27GHz. According to realme, the chip is paired with at least 12GB LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage.

And if you’re after wireless charging, you’ll finally get it here. The realme GT5 Pro will debut as the first smartphone from the brand to support wireless charging — at a rate of up to 50 watts specifically. The battery is 5,400mAh with 100-watt wired charging, allowing the unit to go from 0% to 50% in just 12 minutes.
There’s a 12,000mm2 heat-dissipation system here, too, which is said to help reduce the CPU core temperature by up to 21.8-degree Celsius.
For imaging, the realme GT5 Pro is equipped with a Sony IMX890 periscope telephoto sensor — another first for the company — with optical and electronic image stabilization. The phone is supposedly the first Android model to support Dolby Vision HDR video recording on a telephoto camera as well.

Up front, the 8T LTPO Pro-XDR screen offers an industry-leading 4,500 nits of peak brightness, 1.5K resolution, and an adaptive refresh rate from 0.5Hz to 144Hz. The display likewise comes with a 2,160Hz touch-sampling rate, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, as well as DC dimming. One image shows it’s curved and flaunts narrow bezels.
So what else should we expect?
Popular benchmarking platform Geekbench shows the realme GT5 Pro has a 24GB RAM variant. It was also spotted on the website of Chinese certification authority TENAA packing a 6.78-inch panel. Additional leaks claim the smartphone sports a triple-camera setup on the back, a 32-megapixel selfie shooter up front, and a ¥3,499 (roughly P27,381 in Philippine pesos and $493 in U.S. dollars) price tag for the base model.
