OnePlus will launch its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12, on December 4 December 5 (the one on the 4th is the fireside chat) at an event in China. The OPPO sub-brand is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary, and based on what has been leaked so far, it looks like OnePlus will have something special in store for all of us.
(Update, December 6: The OnePlus 12 is now official!)
For starters, the upcoming flagship’s screen has been hyped as one of its key features, with OnePlus working closely with Chinese display maker BOE to produce the device’s 2K LTPO OLED panel. According to OnePlus China’s Li Jie Louis, the display is an industry benchmark in terms of smoothness, eye protection, display, brightness,” and has “reached the best screen standards in the world.”
Obviously, it’s too early to tell if the brand will also launch the OnePlus 12 in the Philippines, but there’s a good chance it will eventually hit retail stores here considering its predecessor’s global release and warm reception on the local market. You might recall that the OnePlus 11 was priced at P45,990 (around $832) in the Philippines at launch for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the 16GB/256GB variant carried a suggested retail price of P49,990 ($905).

Alleged specs and design
Based on previous reports, the OnePlus 12 will offer a 3,168 x 1,440 resolution and up to 2,600 nits peak brightness, just a few hundred nits short of matching the 3,000-nit panel of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, which launched earlier this month. It allegedly broke 18 DisplayMate records, too, though neither OnePlus nor DisplayMate has posted any evidence of such yet. At a joint press conference in China, BOE stated that the panel got an A+ certification from DisplayMate and consumes 13% less power than the previous generation.
For taking pictures, the OnePlus 12 will reportedly feature a main camera that uses Sony’s new 48-megapixel Lytia 808 sensor, alongside a 48-megapixel ultrawide and a 3x telephoto camera kitted with a 64-megapixel sensor. The phone has been confirmed to arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip inside, thanks to a recent Antutu listing, and will support 100-watt SUPERVOOC fast charging, as confirmed by China’s certification website.
