Indie-game developer Supergiant Games has announced that Hades, that highly popular rogue-like dungeon crawler you might have played or heard about years ago, is coming soon to mobile devices via Netflix Games.
The announcement comes on the heels of the release of Football Manager 2024 Mobile on the streaming giant’s gaming platform. Supergiant Games, which is also responsible for hits like Bastion and Transistor, says Hades “will be available sometime in 2024.”
Hades won IGN‘s Game of the Year award in 2020, among a bunch of other Game of the Year accolades in a year full of memorable AAA titles, including The Last of Us: Part 2, Final Fantasy: Remake, and Ghost of Tsushima. It was initially released on early access for Nintendo Switch, Windows, and macOS in 2018, followed by a launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X three years later.

Hades is a rogue-like gem akin to others like The Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon, but with a Greek mythology theme, as the title implies. It earned high praises for its well-crafted story, memorable characters, tight combat, and tons of customization and replayability. If you haven’t played it yet, this is your chance — provided you own an iOS device.
Yup. Sorry, Android owners. The developers have already said that they have no plans to port the game to Android. The decision comes as no surprise, though; Supergiant Games didn’t port Bastion and Transistor to Android, likely due to the persistent challenge of piracy on Android and difficulty involved in testing games for a highly fragmented and diverse platform. Hades “should run great on an Apple iPhone or iPad running iOS 16 or later.”
It joins other high-quality mobile games available to Netflix subscribers, such as Dead Cells: Netflix Edition, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenger, Immortality, Twelve Minutes, Samurai Shodown, Oxenfree, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, and Tomb Raider Reloaded. A sequel to Hades was announced at last year’s The Game Awards. It is scheduled to hit early access in the second quarter of 2024.
