Benchmarking app Antutu has just shared its latest performance rankings in China for October 2023, featuring the best-performing Android smartphones in the flagship and sub-flagship categories.
While the latter was topped by the same handset that had landed first in September, the premium category was dominated by another phone. And we’re not surprised, considering it’s one of the first two devices that are powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 5G chipset, American chip maker’s first mobile processor with on-device AI processing.
We’re talking about the Xiaomi 14, of course, which achieved a whopping 1,997,427 benchmark score and was followed closely by its Pro sibling, the Xiaomi 14 Pro, with 1,985,014 points. Both models debuted the overlay that’s meant to gradually replace MIUI, Xiaomi HyperOS.
The rest of the flagship Android phones that made it to the top 10 list — from the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro to the RedMagic 8 Pro — use the still-powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, showing once again Qualcomm’s dominance in the flagship category.
It was a different scenario in the sub-premium category. The October ranking was dominated by Mediatek-based Android phones, led by third placer iQOO Z8 with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 processor.
However, the two chart-toppers remained to be devices powered by a Qualcomm chip. The realme GT Neo5 SE and Redmi Note 12 Turbo with Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 ruled the group once again with average monthly Antutu benchmark scores of 1,154,600 and 1,152,325, respectively.
