Goodbye, MIUI. Hello, HyperOS.

(Update, October 23: Xiaomi has confirmed the launch date of the Xiaomi 14 series with HyperOS!)
The rumors claiming that Xiaomi will replace its MIUI with another overlay turn out to be right after all. Xiaomi founder and chief executive officer Lei Jun has confirmed that HyperOS is scheduled to launch on the Xiaomi 14 series of smartphones.
It is said to be a product of years of collective work and will gradually succeed MIUI. In fact, the company started exploring the development of the user interface in 2014 and established research and development in 2017. Expect it to be based on Android and Xiaomi’s new iOT software platform Vela, though it rewrites the underlying architecture.

Lei Jun announces the impending arrival of Xiaomi HyperOS
Asked if HyperOS will be released globally soon, Lei Jun only wrote, “Stay tuned,” but with a “smiling face” emoji — suggesting that its new operating system will go international, probably when the Xiaomi 14 models will be released outside China.
Recall that the MIUI 14-based Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 was unveiled for the Chinese market in December 2022 and became official globally in February 2023. Word has it that the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Xiaomi 14 will debut in China earlier, on October 27. And according to reliable leakster Steven Hemmerstoffer, popularly known as OnLeaks on X, formerly Twitter, the Xiaomi 14 Pro will look like this:
