Not one to rest on its laurels, HONOR is set to introduce the HONOR 90 5G to the local market this August 15 even after rolling out devices in succession in the first half of the year. The sleek-looking smartphone promises to offer impressive rear and front camera systems and industry-leading display, among others. It’s supposed to be a testament to the brand’s promise to go beyond in 2023, to quote HONOR Philippines vice president Stephen Cheng.

200MP camera beast

HONOR has equipped the HONOR 90 5G with a triple-rear-imaging setup that’s headlined by a 200-megapixel camera with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor, allowing it to support multi-frame fusion, noise reduction, pixel binning, optical and electronic image stabilization, and phase-detection and laser autofocus. It also lets you shoot videos in up to 8K resolution at 30fps or in up to 4K resolution at 60fps.

But it’s not only the 200-megapixel camera or even the secondary 12-megapixel ultrawide and macro and 2-megapixel depth cameras that make the HONOR 90 5G a promising tool for content creators.

You can, for example, use the 50-megapixel selfie shooter to share your current vibe with your followers. Or take professional-looking portraits with accurate skin tones using the new Portrait mode. Or take advantage of smart features like AI Video Denoising and AI Vlog Assistant to create and edit videos. The possibilities are endless.

World’s first (almost) zero-flicker display

What’s a great camera system if you can’t even view your shots properly on the one smartphone feature you look at the most? HONOR takes things further by making the HONOR 90 5G’s screen a (nearly) flicker-free one, a first in the world. You’ll only notice the flicker when you take a video of the panel using a fast shutter speed — 3,000 in our case.

With HONOR’s TÜV Rheinland-certified eye-protection technology and the industry’s highest Pulse Width Modulation Dimming frequency of 3,840Hz, you get something that minimizes the strain it puts on your eyes, especially when it’s set at low brightness.

The display comes big at 6.7 inches, is of the AMOLED kind, boasts a high resolution of 2,664 x 1,200, and has an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It features HDR10+ support and HDR certifications from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
