Looks like Redmi is going to beat realme to the punch in launching the world’s first Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 smartphone.

(Update, March 28: The Redmi Note 12 Turbo has launched with a Harry Potter edition!)

The Xiaomi sub-brand has announced on China’s Weibo that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will go official March 28 and the said model will debut the newly unveiled chipset. The Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 5G aims to bring flagship features to midrange devices. It’s fabricated on the same 4nm manufacturing process that the high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 uses and features a main Kryo CPU core operating at 2.91GHz alongside a CPU package that claims to bring 50% faster performance compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 platform. The Realme GT Neo 5 SE is confirmed to launch with the chip, too.
