Following the launch of the Redmi Note 12 series in China and India, the Xiaomi sub-brand has confirmed where the popular midrange line is headed next.
And guess what? The Redmi Note 12 lineup will make its global debut on March 23. It will likely introduce three new handsets for international markets, including the regular Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G. There’s no word about the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition, which can be fully recharged in just nine minutes, thanks to Xiaomi’s 210-watt charging standard.
Considering how popular the Redmi brand is in the Philippines, a local launch is probably imminent.
There are reports that two unannounced 4G models, namely the Redmi Note 12 4G and Redmi Note 12S, may launch as well. The latter will reportedly sport a similar design as last year’s Redmi Note 11S, while offering most of the same specs and upgrading the charging speed to 67 watts, from the previous-gen model’s 33-watt charging.
The 4G variant, on the other hand, is expected to be the first phone equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset. It is said to pack a 6.67-inch AMOLED display as well with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Other rumored specs include a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33-watt charging and a triple-camera system on the rear headlined by a 50-megapixel image sensor.
To recap, the standard Redmi Note 12 5G is one of the first phones to launch with a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip under the hood, accompanied by a 120Hz AMOLED screen and a 48-megapixel main cam. Unlike the Chinese version, which has two rear lenses, the Redmi Note 12 5G for the Indian market packs three cameras on the back, adding an 8-megapixel ultrawide option to the mix.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G upgrades to a faster MediaTek Dimensity 1080 5G chip and a slightly sharper 50-megapixel primary sensor, whereas the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G features a curved AMOLED screen, to go along with a Dimensity 1080 5G processor, a whopping 200-megapixel sensor, and fast charging up to 120 watts.
