After weeks of leaks and speculation, it’s official: Huawei will debut its P60 line and Mate X3 foldable smartphone on March 23. Previously, the company hosted separate launch events to announce the latest entries in its mainline flagship and Mate X series, but that won’t be the case this year.

(Update, March 23: Get to know the newly launched Huawei P60, Huawei P60 Pro, Huawei P60 Art, and Huawei Mate X3!)

Huawei has teased the imaging capabilities of its upcoming top-end camera phone on social channels. Last week, Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu posted a photo taken with an unannounced smartphone model, although it was captioned as “from Huawei P60 Pro” on Chinese microblogging site Weibo.

It appears the image was shot on the P60 Pro’s zoom camera, which will reportedly pack 64 megapixels and use an RYYB pixel arrangement to improve low-light performance. Prior to that, a set of telephoto images presumably from the said model were posted on WeChat by another Huawei executive. Other rumored camera specs of the Huawei P60 Pro include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX888 main sensor and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 unit for ultrawide.

The phone could come with a 4G variant of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440p resolution. It’s supposed to feature a 5,000mAh battery that supports 100-watt wired charging and 50-watt wireless charging.

The Huawei P60 series will likely include the standard P60, P60 Pro, plus a limited-edition model for select markets.

As for the Huawei Mate X3, not much is known about the company’s next-gen foldable, though it has been tipped to be the world’s first phone-tablet hybrid with a periscope zoom lens. The inward-folding device is rumored to boast satellite communication as well, allowing users to send and receive text messages in areas without wireless signal. We’ll know for sure in several days.
