At the Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona, Spain, Realme announced the Realme GT3, which is essentially the Realme GT Neo5 that was launched in China earlier this year.
Like the 240W variant of its Chinese counterpart, the GT3 supports 240-watt SuperVOOC fast charging that can fully recharge the phone’s 4,600mAh battery in about nine and a half minutes. Imagine getting a flat battery to full in under 10 minutes. Let that sink in.
According to the brand, the Realme GT3 will be available in select markets beginning May this year. The base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will be priced at $649 or roughly P35,699 converted. It remains to be seen if Realme will bring the phone to the Philippines, so cross those fingers.

To put its 240-watt charging tech into perspective, consider the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition‘s 210-watt charging and the 150-watt SuperVOOC standard used by devices like the OnePlus 10T, which we still use as one of our daily drivers. The OnePlus 10T is plenty fast enough for us as it is, with its ability to fill its 4,800mAh battery in about 23 minutes or less based on our experience, so we can only imagine how fast the Realme GT3’s real-world charging speeds are.
What’s even more impressive is the phone’s burst-charging speeds. Realme claims that a quick 30-second charge is enough for three hours of music streaming or 40 minutes of video playback.
The company is also aware of how its fast-charging tech could worry potential customers who are looking at the GT3’s long-term battery health. Realme has taken various precautions to minimize battery wear on the device, such as one that limits the maximum charge level to 80% if the unit is left charging overnight.

To cope with the heat from the Realme GT3’s unprecedented charging power, its battery is covered with a VC liquid-cooling system and adopts a fireproof design complemented by numerous safety sensors. Realme also advertises that the battery has been designed to still carry 80% of its maximum capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, which is identical to what OPPO says its 150-watt SuperVOOC charging offers and doubles that of the industry standard.
Another highlight here is the tiny RGB lighting ring on the back with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 icon inside, right next to the dual-ring camera module. The design is not just for aesthetics either; the light ring can be customized to indicate the battery level, notifications, as well as incoming calls, and it can be used as a shutter timer for the rear camera, too.
For taking pictures, the Realme GT3 sports a 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor and optical image stabilization, joined by an 8-megapixel ultrawide option and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. Other notable specs include a 6.74-inch AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint reader and a 16-megapixel punch-hole cam for selfies.
