Following its launch in India, the Tecno Spark Go 2023 has been listed on several online stores in the Philippines, where the phone retails for under P4,000 (under $72).
Locally, the base model with 3GB RAM and 64GB of built-in storage starts at P3,499 ($63), while the upgraded 4GB/64GB variant is priced at P3,699 ($67). The Tecno Spark Go 2023 is the spiritual successor to the Spark 8C and is available in three colors — Endless Black, Nebula Purple, and Uyuni Blue. Design-wise, we also like that the back flaunts a modern design with two large lenses in the camera housing.
The smartphone packs a sizable 5,000mAh battery and has been touted as the first in its price segment to sport a modern USB-C port for charging up to 10 watts and file transfer. Additionally, you get a fingerprint reader at the back alongside a dual-camera setup with a 13-megapixel main sensor. Both the USB-C port and fingerprint sensor are unusual for an entry-level option priced this low, while the rear-facing camera is decently sharp for social media.
The battery should be good enough for 12 hours of gameplay, 25 hours of video playback, or up to 124 hours of music. The Tecno Spark Go 2023 features a standard headphone jack, which is expected given its price. Another notable feature here is the phone’s octa-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor paired with up to 7GB of dynamic RAM on the 4GB RAM config and Tecno Mobile‘s HiOS 12.0 Android overlay on top of Android 12.
The waterdrop screen is 6.56 inches and supports HD+ resolution. It also comes with a 120Hz touch-sampling rate for a more responsive touch experience. At the top, the camera cutout has a 5-megapixel selfie shooter.
