Vivo‘s highly popular budget blower has gotten a glow-up! Vivo Philippines today announced that an upgraded version of Vivo Y02s with more storage is now available on the local market.
The new variant will offer 64GB of expandable storage instead of 32GB — or twice as much as before — while carrying a lower price tag than the 3GB/32GB edition at launch.
Recall that the Vivo Y02s with 32GB of storage debuted in the Philippines last year for P6,499 (around $119 converted). The upgraded version is priced at P5,999 ($110). It is available in Flourite Black and Vibrant Blue colors in Vivo stores as well as partner retailers nationwide.
The successor to the Vivo Y01, the Y02s looks surprisingly premium for its price segment, sporting an attractive glittery finish at the back and a flat metallic frame. You also get two large camera rings on the rear, but only one of them houses a camera; the other packs an LED flash. Up front, the unit is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera for selfies.
Notably, Vivo’s latest entry-level model features a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10-watt charging over a USB-C port. But despite its generous battery capacity, the phone is only 8.15mm at its thickest point, making it one of the slimmest in its class.
Powering the Vivo Y02s is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chip that uses a 12nm process and boots the company’s Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box. Rounding out the data sheet, the LCD screen is 6.51 inches and has an HD+ resolution.
