The Huawei Mate 50 Pro is hands-down the best camera phone we’ve ever tested and it’s now available in the Philippines for P58,999 (around $1,039) for the Black version and P68,999 ($1,215) for the Orange vegan-leather variant with 512GB of storage and Huawei‘s own impact- and scratch-resistant Kunlun Glass on top of the display.
But if you don’t want to spend a small fortune upgrading to Huawei’s latest flagship, the company has a deal you might find hard to resist. For a limited time, you can get the standard version of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro without a cashout under Globe’s GPlan 2499. The vegan-leather variant with Kunlun Glass, on the other hand, can be yours when you pay P16,800 ($296) up front under GPlan 2499.
That’s insanely good value, considering the Mate 50 Pro’s Ultra Aperture XMAGE camera system boasts the industry’s first physical variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0.
The smartphone got the highest overall camera score ever on Dxomark’s mobile-camera rankings and also achieved the best results in the site’s Friends & Family, Outdoor, Indoor, and Lowlight categories, citing its impressive overall results with regard to exposure, focus, and noise. It offers excellent zoom capabilities as well, with strong detail up to 10x zoom.
Inside, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro is powered by the 4G variant of Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, so expect class-leading performance as far as day-to-day tasks and gaming are concerned.
Normally, the regular and vegan-leather models of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro require a P22,600 ($398) and P33,600 ($592) cashout, respectively, when paired with a Globe GPlan 2499 postpaid plan. By contrast, the base Apple iPhone 14 Pro with 128GB storage costs P37,200 ($655) with GPlan 2499. The one-time fee for the 128GB Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is P25,200 ($444) under the same postpaid subscription.
