The specs of the upcoming Vivo X Fold have been leaked prior to the foldable phone’s debut in China on April 11. In related news, Vivo India CEO Jerome Chen recently confirmed that the device will also launch in India after its Chinese release, suggesting an international unveiling could be in the cards.

(Update, April 11: Vivo has launched its first foldable phone [Vivo X Fold] and tablet [Vivo Pad], along with its answer to the current Galaxy Ultra flagship and Samsung’s now-discontinued Galaxy Note line [Vivo X Note].)

A photo of a marketing material for the Vivo X Fold is making the rounds online, confirming the specs of the company’s first foldable before its official announcement. According to the leaked material, the smartphone will get an 8-inch E5 AMOLED folding screen with a 2K resolution and a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz.

More impressively, it will use third-generation LTPO technology, same as the Honor Magic 4 Pro. The tech reduces screen flickering while consuming less power than LTPO 2.0 displays found on flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S22. The material also indicates that the Vivo X Fold’s inner display has matched or broken 19 DisplayMate records. Additionally, the X Fold is equipped with a 6.53-inch FHD+ cover screen that has native support for 120Hz refresh rate.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset powers the foldable, alongside LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. In terms of battery capacity, expect a 4,600mAh dual-cell battery with support for 66-watt wired charging, as well as wireless fast charging up to 50 watts. As expected, the device will boot Vivo’s custom interface on top of Android 12 out of the box.

Around the back, you’ll find a quad-camera setup with a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 main sensor, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide option, a 12-megapixel portrait cam, and a 60x periscope shooter. Both primary and zoom cameras have optically stabilized lenses.

Vivo published a teaser video featuring the X Fold last week. The foldable has been confirmed to resemble the OPPO Find N to a certain extent. Based on the video, the Vivo X Fold appears to be longer than OPPO’s folding handset, and its back features a leather finish and a massive camera island with multiple lenses and the Zeiss branding.
