(Update, March 23: The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro have been launched in the Philippines, with a free TV for early buyers at that!)
According to a local digital ad that took us at Revü to Shopee Mall, it seems that only the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will go on sale at local retail next week, specifically at 11:59 p.m. on the 23rd. We didn’t see any listing of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870-based Xiaomi 12X. However, it’s possible that it could be offered here and some other global markets as a POCO F4 Pro.

Xiaomi Philippines’ announcement
You might recall that the series made its global debut earlier this month. The standard Xiaomi 12 starts at $749 (around P39,365 converted) for 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, whereas the Pro variant has two memory options — 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB — and is available from $999 (P52,504). Both phones have Gray, Purple, and Blue color options.
In the Philippines, last year’s Xiaomi Mi 11 with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage was priced at P36,990 ($704) at launch. It came with a Snapdragon 888 5G processor, a sizable 6.81-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh, and a rear-facing setup headlined by a 108-megapixel camera.

This year, the company has downsized the display to 6.28 inches on the Xiaomi 12 and 6.73 inches on the Xiaomi 12 Pro, but upgraded the chipset to the newer and faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 spec. The top-shelf Pro model also debuts the world’s first smartphone camera with a Sony IMX707 sensor, alongside a Samsung-made E5 AMOLED QHD+ panel, 4,600mAh battery that supports fast charging up to 120 watts, and 50-watt fast wireless charging.
