Realme‘s latest number series just welcomed two new members to the family.
The Realme 9 5G Speed Edition and Realme 9 5G are now official, debuting in India with impressive specs for their price.
The Speed Edition is the more interesting one. It boasts a 6.6-inch screen with a 2,412 × 1,080 resolution, a peak brightness of 600 nits, and 144Hz seven-level adaptive refresh and 180Hz touch-response rates. Chipset-wise, it’s even better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695-based Realme 9 Pro 5G and MediaTek Dimensity 920-powered Realme 9 Pro Plus 5G with its Snapdragon 778G SoC.
The Realme 9 5G SE packs a 48-megapixel triple camera on the back, a 16-megapixel selfie sensor, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 5,000mAh battery that charges at a maximum of 30 watts, and Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0.
The 6GB + 128GB version is priced at ₹19,999 (around P13,666 in Philippine pesos and $262 in U.S. dollars), and the unit with 8GB of RAM costs ₹22,999 (P15,716 or $301).

The regular Realme 9 5G, on the other hand, shares the same camera systems, side fingerprint scanner, battery capacity, and OS version as its SE sibling. However, it uses a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chip; its display is smaller at 6.5 inches and features “only” 90Hz refresh and 180Hz touch-sampling rates; and the cell supports 18 watts of USB-C charging.
The 4GB + 64GB variant of the said model is priced at ₹14,999 (P10,259 or $197). Get the one with 6GB of expandable RAM and 128GB of built-in storage, and you only need to pay ₹17,499 (P11,964 or $229).

Whether the two phones will become available in the Philippines is something we can’t answer for now. Remember that the local team is still busy preparing for the March 15 launch of the Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro Plus 5G.
