Redmi will launch its next gaming flagship next week. The Xiaomi sub-brand earlier announced that it will unveil the Redmi K50 Gaming on February 16 at an event in China.

According to previous reports, the Redmi K50 series will comprise the standard Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro Plus, and Redmi K50 Gaming, but it’s unclear if the other K50 models will debut alongside the esports-focused variant. We’ll know for sure in about a week.
Redmi also shared a couple of teasers for the Redmi K50 Gaming that indicate the upcoming device is going to sport shoulder triggers on each side and a rectangular camera module at the back with three cameras next to a lightning bolt-shaped flash. Posters promoting the gaming phone have also highlighted its speedy yet cool performance.
Meanwhile, a leaked poster has claimed that the Redmi K50 Gaming will get a Mercedes-AMG Petronas Edition, which features the black and cyan color scheme of the German brand’s F1 cars. Recall that Xiaomi announced a Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Edition for its Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 last year.

Does the K50 series’ esports version really have a Mercedes-AMG Petronas Edition?
Inside, the smartphone has been tipped to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G chipset under the hood. It is also set to feature a CyberEngine X-axis vibration motor, which is said to rival the haptics on the latest iPhone models. Redmi says it is the strongest X-axis haptics motor on an Android phone and three times more powerful than those on current Androids.
How much do you think it is going to be? A recent leak hinted at the price of the Redmi K50 Gaming to be around ¥3,499 (about $550 or P28,202 converted). It’s unlikely that the unit will be sold outside of China, but if last year’s Redmi K40 Gaming is any indication, the K50 Gaming could arrive in international markets as the POCO F4 GT. Only time will tell.
