Infinix Mobile takes another step forward with the launch of its first 5G phone. Meet the Infinix Zero 5G.

(Update, March 20: The Infinix Zero 5G has gone on sale in the Philippines!)

As expected, it’s already available in Nigeria, selling in the African country for ₦169,500 (around P20,959 or $408). Gadgets tend to be more expensive there. For example, the Infinix Zero X Pro‘s 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB models are priced at ₦157,400 (P19,448 or $378) and ₦195,700 (P24,175 or $471), respectively. Those same units cost P14,990 ($292) and P15,990 ($311) in the Philippines.

The Infinix Zero 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900, the same chip that’s inside the first 5G smartphone of another Transsion Holdings brand, the Tecno POVA 5G. The SoC is fabbed on a 6nm process and features two Cortex-A78 performance cores and a Mali-G68 GPU. Here, it’s paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The 6.78-inch FullHD+ LCD screen has a punch hole at the top center for the 16-megapixel selfie camera and boasts a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz for smoother navigation. The battery is big at 5,000mAh and supports 33-watt fast charging. The 48-megapixel triple rear camera can zoom into objects up to 30x. And of course, who can ignore the OPPO Find X3 Pro-like uni-curve design? Certainly not us.

The Infinix Zero 5G will be launched in India on Valentine’s Day. There’s no word yet on when it will be released locally, though.
