A Realme phone that is powered by the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 flagship 5G chipset is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2021.
(Update, December 14: Realme has scheduled a Realme GT 2 series special event on December 20!)
Already spotted on the IMEI database and the company’s website, among others, the Realme GT 2 Pro has appeared on Antutu. In fact, the benchmarking platform itself shared the test result of the smartphone. And not surprisingly, the GT 2 Pro scored a whopping 1,025,215 points, one of the highest we’ve seen thus far. That’s approximately 20% higher than the average rating of devices using the Snapdragon 888 series. The 447,926 GPU score is also better by around 37.5%.
The variant tested — one that could still be an engineering unit, Antutu said — packs 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It likewise features a 120Hz screen and runs on a user interface based on Android 12.
Word has it that the Realme GT 2 Pro is equipped with an FHD+ AMOLED display that measures 6.55 inches; a 5,000mAh battery with support for 125 watts of fast charging; a triple-rear-camera setup that could include a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens; and a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

The price is pegged at around ¥4,000, or roughly P31,579 and $627. Considering that Realme hasn’t released its most premium models in the Philippines, we won’t keep our hopes up about the Realme GT 2 Pro’s availability in the country. We’d love it if we’d be proven wrong here, though.
