Following a preorder period that ended yesterday, the new Huawei MateView GT 27-inch Standard Edition is now available in the Philippines.
Locally, the 27-inch monitor has a suggested retail price of P18,999, or around $382 converted. It’s exactly P10,000 ($200) less than the Huawei MateView GT 34-inch Sound Edition, which sells for P28,999 ($583). Those who purchase the 27-inch screen through the official Huawei Online Store will also receive a free Huawei Wireless Mouse GT.
The Standard Edition is essentially a smaller, more affordable variant of the 34-inch MateView GT that launched earlier, and retains many of the key features of the bigger model, including a 1440p resolution and a fast 165Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals and to minimize screen tearing.
Perhaps more importantly, this MateView monitor is also curved to deliver a more immersive viewing experience. It likewise offers a wide 16:9 aspect ratio, 4,000:1 contrast, support for HDR10 content, as well as 350 nits of typical brightness.
While it does not have all the bells and whistles of Huawei‘s more premium displays, the MateView GT 27-inch Standard Edition looks promising on paper and is cheaper to boot. If you’re in the market for a new gaming monitor to pair with your rig, the new MateView GT could be worth a consideration.
