Our review of the POCO M3 Pro 5G remains to be the most-read story at Revü this year so far. So we’re not going to lie; we’re excited to see what the phone’s successor might be.
(Update, November 9: The POCO M4 Pro 5G has been launched! Details here.)
(Update, November 4: Here‘s what we know about the POCO M4 Pro 5G ahead of its November 9 global launch!)
Today, October 14, the POCO M4 Pro 5G has been spotted on the site of the United States’ Federal Communications Commission or FCC, suggesting that we’re getting closer to the device’s launch. Based on some of the details that we can glean from it, the handset has 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB memory configurations and a 3.5mm headphone jack, given that the FM uses earphones as antenna.
POCO M4 Pro 5G receives the FCC certification. Will come in 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB memory variants. Global launch, as I tipped earlier, is imminent.

Certified by the FCC!
In case you missed it, the POCO M4 Pro 5G has likewise been certified by Singapore’s IMDA [Infocomm Media Development Authority], Europe’s EEC [European Economic Community], and China’s 3C [China Compulsory Certification] and TENAA [Telecommunications Equipment Certification Authority]. Reports say it uses a MediaTek processor, has support for 33-watt fast charging, and ships with MIUI 12.5 out of the box.
It seems that the smartphone’s global version bears the model number 21091116AG, while the one in China is 21091116AC. There could be more. But the interesting detail here is that there’s no POCO for the Chinese market. It’s possible then that Xiaomi‘s M4 Pro 5G is a rebranded Redmi model.
Understand that Redmi general manager Lu Weibing has already hinted at the announcement of the Redmi Note 11 series in China this month (update: yes, it’s launching October 28!). Recall also that the M3 Pro is a redesigned Redmi Note 10 5G. Coincidences? Probably not.
Word has it that the POCO M4 Pro 5G’s global launch is scheduled for end-October or early November. Hopefully, we here in the Philippines will be one of the first countries to get the phone.
