Finally, it’s here. Xiaomi has formally announced the Redmi 10 on the company’s official blog. It was confirmed by Xiaomi just four days ago.

(Update, September 6: We finally have the Redmi 10 Philippine launch date!)
And as expected, the next entry-level smartphone of June 2021’s No. 1 smartphone vendor features a 50-megapixel quad-camera setup, dual speakers, and a fluid FHD+ LCD screen, in addition to several other attractive specs.
The Redmi 10 will be available from August 20 at these prices:
- 4GB/64GB: $179 or around P9,033 converted
- 4GB/128GB: $199 or P10,042
- 6GB/128GB: $219 or P11,051
The Redmi 10’s high-resolution sensor is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors for macro and portrait shots. It doesn’t have a telephoto or zoom lens, but for the price, that’s completely understandable.
Looking at its display specs, you get a 90Hz refresh rate paired with Xiaomi’s AdaptiveSync technology, which will automatically adjust the refresh rate based on the content you’re viewing to save battery life. The successor to the Redmi 9 also features Reading Mode 3.0 that filters blue light from the screen and makes it more conducive to reading. There’s Sunlight mode for outdoor viewing, too.
Another notable spec is MediaTek’s new Helio G88 chipset, which is said to be an incremental upgrade over last year’s Helio G85. The handset runs Android 11 based on MIUI 12.5 out of the box. It has a 5,000mAh battery that supports fast charging up to 18 watts using the included 22.5-watt charger.
We wonder when the Redmi 10 will go on sale in the Philippines, but apparently, it’s already coming to Malaysia. Below is a video uploaded by a YouTuber based from our neighboring Southeast Asian country who already got his hands on a unit.
