The Huawei Nova 8i, Watch 3, and FreeBuds 4 won’t be the only new Huawei products that will arrive in the Philippines shortly. Like the tech giant’s new smartwatch and open-fit ANC earphones, the Huawei MateView GT is also now available for preorder in the country until July 15.

(Update, November 12: A more affordable version of the Huawei MateView GT is now being sold in the Philippines!)

The company’s first gaming monitor has a suggested retail price of P28,999 (around $582 converted), and those who snag it early will get a free Huawei Classic Backpack worth P5,999 ($120). You can buy the WatchView GT from the official Huawei online store and Shopee and Lazada brand shops.

As for the non-GT MateView for design professionals and content creators, it will also be available locally at a later date.

The Huawei MateView GT features a 34-inch widescreen VA panel with a cinematic aspect ratio of 21:9 underneath the curved glass. The extra width should make games more immersive, with shooters, flight and racing simulators, and side-scrolling adventure games benefiting the most from the added horizontal space.

The panel’s 3,440 x 1,440 resolution is great, resulting in a pixel density of 109 dots per inch. The 4ms response time should be okay for most users. And the 165Hz refresh rate ensures smooth visuals and is high enough for proper gaming. There’s no support here for AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync, though.

To deliver high-quality sound, the MateView GT is equipped with a soundbar containing two 5-watt speakers, a microphone, plus a band of touch-sensitive RGB LEDs across the front of the soundbar to adjust the volume. At the back, you get a single DisplayPort connection, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and a USB-C port for connecting the power brick that powers the monitor.
