And they’re up. Benchmarking platform Antutu has finally released May’s best-performing flagship and midrange Android phones globally.
While the chart-topper in the ranking of more affordable units is not a surprise, the one for the premium category is.
Top 10: Flagship Android smartphones
For the first time ever, a Realme handset outmatched other brands’ flagship models, even ASUS’ ROG Phone 5 gaming phone. The Realme GT 5G took the No. 1 spot with an average Antutu benchmark score of 822,869. Incidentally, the said model’s global launch is scheduled for June 15, so that’s something to look forward to.
As expected, Qualcomm flexed its muscles here, showing us how powerful its premium chipsets are. Take a closer look at the list below, and you’ll find that all 10 devices have Snapdragon 888 inside. Notice that there’s no Samsung Galaxy smartphone here, but we digress.
Top 10: Midrange Android smartphones
Huawei‘s Kirin 985 has been the best-performing mid-level SoC for more than half a year. Until now, that is. The Snapdragon 780G-based Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G grabbed the first place in May with a high average score of 525,606 — something that was already expected as early as the official announcement of the chip.
Unlike in the flagship space, Qualcomm did not take all the spots here, although there were a total of four devices that use Snapdragon processors. Besides the 5G version of the Mi 11 Lite, the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G and Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G with Snapdragon 750G and the Google Pixel 5 with Snapdragon 765G made it to the list as well.
