(Update, April 17: We’ve spotted the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite’s prices ahead of the phone’s April 22 launch in the Philippines!)
Meet the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G, which debuts the successor to the Snapdragon 765. The SoC became official last week to bring the 5nm processing technology and architecture of the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888 to the more affordable 7 series chips. Here’s a refresher of the 780G, in case you need it.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G product brief
At the heart of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G variant, on the other hand, is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 732G, the same processor that the POCO X3 and Redmi Note 10 Pro use.
One look at the them, and you know who the smartphones are for. The trendy, fresh, vibrant look with refreshing colors and the thin profile say it all: the devices are for the young set.
The Mi 11 Lite 5G and 4G models share the same 6.55-inch AMOLED DotDisplay with 90Hz refresh and 240Hz touch-sampling rates, though the former gets Gorilla Glass 6 instead of Gorilla Glass 5 protection and HDR10+ — not just HDR10 — support. They also feature the same LiquidCool technology, 64-megapixel triple camera on the back, side-mounted fingerprint reader, 4,250mAh battery that supports up to 33 watts of quick charging, dual audio speakers, and MIUI version on top of Android 11. The 5G-ready handset’s selfie camera steps up to 20 megapixels from the 4G unit’s 16 megapixels, though.
