It seems PLDT is enjoying a successful run with its PC-on-a-stick broadband add-ons. Otherwise, why else would the local telecom giant bring in another product that’s admittedly very similar in pricing and features to the Intel-branded TVolution Stick PLDT released a couple of months ago?
But I digress. Anyhow, here’s the new, I mean, newer TVolution Stick, this time by Microsoft — or at least that’s how PLDT describes it. (The device was made by an original design manufacturer; but hey, at least it comes with Microsoft’s operating system.)
The TVolution Stick turns any TV or monitor with an HDMI port into a Windows 10 PC sans a desktop, plus all the cabling needed to power it.
Just like its predecessor, the latest and still-impressively tiny TVolution Stick turns any TV or monitor with an HDMI port into a full-fledged PC running Windows 10. Plugging the accessory into a vacant HDMI port would make your current set smarter than any smart TV out there, giving it the capability to run legacy Windows software, stream videos on the Web browser, and, if the need arises, do productivity tasks, among many others, and all from the comfort of the living-room couch.
In short, the TVolution Stick lets you do PC stuff on your TV or monitor sans, well, a PC, plus all the cabling needed to power it. It’s a fantastic addition to any entertainment space, and it’s a great alternative to owning a budget desktop, assuming you’re not too fussed about the limited storage.
The updated PLDT TVolution is already available to new and existing PLDT broadband customers for as low as ₱199 monthly. PLDT Fibr subscribers, on the other hand, get it for free.
