A Realme 7 is going to be launched soon, but it’s not the Realme 7 that you know — the one that was previously launched in markets like the Philippines.

(Update, November 20: The Realme 7 5G is official!)

According to the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand, the Realme 7 5G will debut in the United Kingdom exactly a week from now, on November 19. And it’s speculated to be the global version of the Realme V5 5G model that was announced for the Chinese market in August.

Realme U.K. announces the launch date of the Realme 7 5G, which is supposedly a rebranded variant of the China-exclusive Realme V5 5G, one of the world’s most affordable 5G phones

Before this development, India-based online technology publication MySmartPrice had spotted the Realme 7 5G on the site of Thailand certification authority National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission or NBTC.

The listing shows that the device’s model number is RMX2111, which is similar to the V5’s. So if this is true, then we expect to see most — if not all — of the latter’s specs to be carried by the 5G-ready 7 as well.

Recall that the Realme V5 5G features a MediaTek Dimensity 720 chip paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage; a 6.5-inch punch-hole screen with a 90Hz refresh rate; a 48-megapixel quad camera on the back; and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. Rounding out its specs are a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30-watt fast charging; a side-mounted fingerprint sensor; and Android 10-based Realme UI.

The V5’s 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB versions are priced at ¥1,499 (around P10,957 or $226) and ¥1,899 (P13,881 or $286), respectively, in China. So in case the Realme 7 5G gets the same specs and it will become available in the Philippines, we’re looking at SRPs that are a bit higher than those because of taxes.
