Around five months since Xiaomi‘s Redmi Note 9 series was launched in the Philippines, the lineup is finally getting a permanent markdown. Most of the variants, anyway.

According to the company, the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9S with higher memory configurations and all of the Redmi Note 9 Pro models are cheaper starting today, October 1. See the new pricing below:

• Redmi Note 9 (4GB + 128GB): P8,990 (roughly $186) from P9,990 ($206)
• Redmi Note 9S (6GB + 128GB): P11,490 ($237) from P11,990 ($247)
• Redmi Note 9 Pro (6GB + 64GB): P11,990 ($247) from P12,490 ($258)
• Redmi Note 9 Pro (6GB + 128GB): P12,990 ($268) from P13,990 ($289)

The 3GB/64GB Redmi Note 9 and 4GB/64GB Redmi Note 9S still have the same local prices at launch.

This development comes a day after confirming that the newly launched Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite, Mi 10T, and Mi 10T Pro 5G phones — which start at approximately $327 or $15,854 globally — will be made available in the Philippines.

The Redmi Note 9 is recognized as the first smartphone to use a MediaTek Helio G85 chip. It comes with a 5,020mAh battery that supports 18 watts of fast charging, a 48-megapixel rear quad camera, and a 6.53-inch punch-hole display with 2,340 x 1,080 resolution.

The Redmi Note 9S, on the other hand, uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, a four-camera system on the back headlined by a 48-megapixel sensor, a 16-megapixel selfie shooter housed in a punch hole at the top-center of the 6.67-inch screen, and a 5,020mAh battery with support for 18-watt fast charging.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is, of course, the most premium of the three. Inside is still a Snapdragon 720G, but it already boasts a 64-megapixel quad camera that can take RAW images for editing on a computer later; Log mode for videos; and cinematic options for shooting. Plus its 5,020mAh battery supports faster charging up to 30 watts.
