There’s much to be said about a company that’s more than a century old and is still going strong. Case in point: Sharp Corporation, a familiar name not just in the technology industry but in others as well, is currently celebrating its 108th anniversary.
In the Philippines, the company marks its 108th year by formally launching products as part of its Stay Home, Stay Sharp campaign — no doubt born out of its commitment to help Filipinos navigate the “new normal.” And we’re not just talking about appliances. There’s a laptop and an Android TV, each with different models.

Sharp 4K Android TV
It’s not only the way we work and study that the COVID-19 pandemic has upheaved; it’s also the way we consume content for entertainment. Chances are, you now watch more, say, Netflix shows.
Sharp has an answer to cater to that change in lifestyle. The newly available Sharp 4K Android TV makes use of the company’s highly regarded Ultra HD AQUOS 4K Technology, so you have a great viewing experience.
Its high luminance feature allows for life-like contrast between light and darkness. SD and HD videos can be up-converted to 4K resolution with minimal noise, thanks to the television’s X4 Master Engine Pro II processor. And as with other Android TVs, you get to use apps from the Play Store.
There are three models retailing in the Philippines — units with model numbers 4T-C50BK1X, 4T-C60BK1X, and 4T-C60CK1X. The cheapest, a 50-inch TV, is priced at P30,998 ($641). The 60-incher costs P45,998 ($951). The 4T-C60CK1X, on the other hand, does not have pricing yet.
