It’s that time of the year again. Globe Telecom will continue the tradition of celebrating September 17 or 0917 — its iconic and original prefix — this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu, “September 17 has always been a special day for us. This is our way of thanking our customers for their continued loyalty and support.”

He added, “The unusual circumstances that we’re in give us greater motivation to give back and make this year’s celebration — dubbed National G Day — even more meaningful.”
2020’s festivities are all-digital and come in many forms, with what Globe says are focused on making customers more productive, entertained, and delighted. If you’re part of the Globe community, here’s what’s in store for you:
Mobile Legends tournament for amateurs
The G Legends Cup is Globe’s biggest amateur Mobile Legends tournament for its customers. More than 1,000 teams will battle it out for a chance at the telco’s P600,000 (around $12,385) prize pool.
If you and your friends want to join the match, just redeem your code through the Globe Rewards app or that of Globe At Home’s, if you’re a Globe At Home subscriber. Once you receive it, go to this page and enter the tournament code on the registration form. You have until tomorrow, September 16, to register.
Globe will announce the teams that will participate at the G Legends Cup September 17. Preliminaries will be held from the 19th to the 20th, and the playoffs, on September 24.
Raffle, raffle, raffle!
How do 5G smartphones, gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch, Segway Ninebot electric scooter, and Xiaomi Mi Box 4K Android TV set-top box sound? Those are just a few of the prizes to be given away at the National G Day’s G Chance the Raffle, which starts September 17.
You will get your raffle code from the Globe Rewards or Globe at Home app. You can use their reward points to turn them into more raffle codes should you choose to.
Globe Rewards points may also be used to get 917 lifestyle essentials, Shoor experiences, and discount codes for Lazada, Shopee, Zalora, Grab, Puregold, Health Now, HealthWay Clinics, telehealth medicine app Konsulta MD, and other partners.
Music festival featuring LANY and other artists
You read that right. International band LANY — along with local artists such as Ben & Ben, The Juans, UDD, Massiah, Kiana Valenciano, SB19, and December Avenue — will perform for you September 26th.
You can watch these well-loved acts from the comforts of your home starting at 4 p.m. on that day. The online concert will be livestreamed on Globe’s official Facebook page.

Business summit
Now, this should prove especially useful to entrepreneurs during these trying times. On September 23, Globe myBusiness will host “Usapang Diskarte: Pivot your Business to Success” as part of the National G Day celebration, and it happens to be the telco unit’s first-ever G Summit.
Most-booked innovation speaker Josh Linkner and business leaders from Google, Taxumo, and CIA Bootleg Manila will talk about business opportunities in what we deem “new normal” today; running a business amid uncertainty; and using innovation and digital transformation to help you turn a challenge into a business opportunity.
The goal? To bring Filipino entrepreneurs together in the hopes of fulfilling the vision of transforming the Philippines into a digitally empowered nation.
